Thrift shopping for Maternity! (Sing to the tune of "Cheeseburgers in Paradise")

Last night my MIL did something pretty cool for me, she took me over to this thrift store that her aunt had told her about off of Airline and Little York.

Family Thrift Center
127 Little York
Houston, TX  77076

Happened to be everything on Tuesday was $.50!!! I found 7 pairs of maternity pants, including a nice pair of Motherhood blue jeans:

Get Used Secret Fit Belly™ 5 Pocket Straight Leg Maternity Jeans

$44.98

I got them for fifty cents!!!!

They had some really nice stuff there-but you had to browse the racks. I have pants, dresses, a few shirts, got a pair of sketchers ugg boots (I just need to clean them up a little bit, but they are hardly even used!), bought 3 purses…

31 items total…for $16.78!  You know what I would have been able to get for that amount at Motherhood? A freakin shirt on clearance!!!

Next door there was a store for the men, which was mixed stuff but mostly men and children stuff, I spent the same amount for JD and my Hubby. Found JD some cool t-shirts and shorts that he can wear for school and kick around stuff. Found some nice long sleeve dress shirts for Hubby, cool T-shirts, shorts. The only thing I didn’t really find for them was pants, but they have blue jeans already.

And I didn’t even look though half of what was there. I have 3 huge bags of clothes for $33.56!

Cool beans, huh? On Wednesday s they have everything for $.25 from 7am-1pm. They are open until 9pm on the weekdays and open on the weekends until 7, I think.

  2. In a couple of days, I'll post pictures of my findings. I am so excited to not spend an arm and and leg on clothes that I'll only wear for the next 18 weeks!

  3. Do they have other things besides clothes at the new place on Little York? I've been wanting to go over there and check it out.

  4. Michele-

All I noticed were clothes...racks and racks of clothes. They had shoes and purses. Other than that, there weren't any cool knick knacks or anything.

I know I said I would post pictures of my findings, but the cord for my retro digital camera is MIA in the house somewhere, so this posting requires "imagination." LOL

  5. BTW about 90% of my maternity wardrobe was from Ross!

  6. Hey Lady! I looked over at my local Ross and couldn't even find any maternity clothes! I think a lot of stores (like WAL-MART!!!)stopped carrying maternity clothing for some reason. I couldn't imagine why since there are so many knocked up ladies these days, I see a dollar to be made.

I've browsed through Target and everything I like is too expensive for my budget right now. I'm looking to organize a meeting back at the Family Thrift Shop and try to get my mom over there, she would have a blast, just like I did!
